Fr Des Dwyer SJ
Des Dwyer is Parish Priest at Immaculate Conception Hawthorn. Born in Warrnambool he was educated at Xavier College. After leaving school he joined the Jesuits and was ordained in 1974. He did post graduate studies in Spirituality at St Louis University USA (read more)

Lenten Prayer Group
The Lenten Prayer Group will be held on Wednesdays during Lent at 7:30pm-8:30pm in the Parish Centre, facilitated by Donna Bosnjak. All are welcome.
On 2nd April the prayer group will feature a special Taize music session, led by Georgina Docherty and our 9.30am Choir. It will be very meditative as it will be embellished with beautiful acapella music from Taize. more information here - listen to sample music here
William Le Brun - Australian Idol
You may have noticed that Will’s voice has been absent from our Masses for the last few weeks. He has been appearing on Australian Idol on Channel 7 and has currently reached the Top 8 category. His progress depends on viewer support by SMSing his name to 0457 500 700 in the 24 hours following each of his performances. We wish him every success in his journey. Palms for Palm Sunday
There will be a working bee on Thursday morning, 10 April to clean and prepare the palm fronds. For enquiries, contact Berny at the Parish Office
Choir for 2025 Easter Services – All Welcome
If you would like to be involved in the combined Choir for Holy Thursday, Good Friday and/or the Saturday Vigil of Light, rehearsal will be held in the Parish Centre on Sunday April 13 from 12-1pm. Music and sound files will be provided, so please contact Fiona Dyball for more details. Music can be sent out in advance to people who are unable to attend the rehearsal. All welcome!
Maytime Fair - ICC Parish Stall 2025
This year’s Maytime Fair will be held on Saturday 3 May 2025. Hawthorn Parish will again have a stall at the Fair - see the bulletin for details and contact Carrie Fleming to offer assistance.
All proceeds from the day will support the work of Jesuit Mission to empower vulnerable communities in over 10 countries in Asia and Africa, including Cambodia, Timor-Leste, India, Myanmar, Thailand, Malawi and more.

Following last year’s Lenten art display, we have a new set of prints behind the altar for this year’s reflection as we journey through Lent toward Easter. These paintings by William Fleming depict six key moments from the Passion of Jesus Christ. See a few examples below
